Creating Smooth Residential Real Estate Transactions
If you are buying or selling your home or condo, you may have questions about the transaction. Whether this is your first real estate transaction or if you have worked through the system before, working with an experienced attorney can help ensure the process moves as smoothly as possible.
At my firm, The Law Office of Danielle E. Colyer, I represent home buyers and sellers in residential real estate closings throughout Northern Illinois and the greater Chicago area. Contact me online or call 1-866-661-9795 to schedule your free initial consultation.
Seller Representation
The residential real estate closing is the final step when you are selling property. Although the seller is usually expected to attend this meeting, some clients appoint me a power of attorney, so they do not need to attend the closing. I meet with clients at their convenience to sign the necessary documents. I handle the preparation of all aspects of the case, including:
- Ordering the title
- Obtaining the payoff letter
- Ordering surveys
- Ensuring water certification and zoning regulations are correct
Buyer representation
Every residential real estate closing is different, so it is important to work with an attorney who does frequent work with residential real estate closings. I work closely with clients to offer them legal counsel through every step of the process, including:
- Referring mortgage brokers
- Referring home inspectors
- Reviewing contracts
